She agreed to marry the man secretly known as the “Pig King” solely to save her father from ruin. But on their wedding night, a discovery awaited her that changed everything

When Sofia turned twenty-five, marriage was the last thing on her mind. She worked at a small hotel and gave almost her entire salary to her mother because their family had been living in debt for several years.

The main reason was Sofia’s father. He was constantly gambling, borrowing money, and promising every time that he would soon pay everything back down to the last coin. But one day, the debt became so enormous that there was simply no way to repay it.

Sofia’s father owed nearly fifty million pesos to a man named Victor Alvarez.

Victor was incredibly wealthy. He owned construction companies, restaurants, and several hotels. But people didn’t just talk about his fortune. Behind his back, they called him the “Pig King.”

The man weighed around 140 kilograms, breathed heavily, was constantly sweating, and almost always moved around in a special wheelchair. His face was covered in strange scars, and his personality was considered so difficult that even his employees tried not to speak to him unless absolutely necessary.

One evening, Victor personally came to the debtor’s house.

“You have one week to repay the money,” he calmly told Sofia’s father.

The man turned pale.

“I don’t have that kind of money. But I can offer you something else.”

He looked at his daughter, who was standing by the door. Sofia immediately realized that something terrible was about to happen.

“Marry her, and forgive the debt.”

“Dad, do you even understand what you’re saying?” the girl whispered.

But her father was already begging Victor to agree.

The strangest thing happened a few seconds later. The billionaire stared at Sofia for a long time and then calmly replied:

“Fine. But only if she agrees herself.”

Sofia could have refused. However, if she did, her father would lose the house and would most likely end up in prison because of other schemes the family had only recently discovered.

The girl agreed, even though she found it difficult to even be around her future husband.

Hundreds of guests attended the wedding. Sofia looked stunning in her white dress, while Victor sat beside her. His enormous stomach barely fit beneath his jacket, his face was glistening with sweat, and an assistant was constantly nearby with his wheelchair.

The guests whispered, not even bothering to lower their voices.

“She sold herself for money.”

“I can’t imagine how disgusted she must feel being next to him.”

Sofia heard everything but said nothing.

When Victor became hot, she brought him some water and gently dabbed his forehead with a napkin.

The man unexpectedly asked:

“Doesn’t it disgust you to touch me?”

Sofia looked at him in surprise.

“You’re my husband.”

After those words, Victor fell silent for the first time that entire evening.

Late that night, they arrived at his mansion.

When the bedroom door closed, Sofia visibly tensed. However, Victor didn’t even come near her.

She looked at him in surprise.

“Then why did you agree to this marriage in the first place?”

Victor didn’t answer.

He got up from his wheelchair.

Sofia froze.

The man who supposedly could barely walk suddenly took several perfectly steady steps.

“You… can walk?”

Victor looked at her and locked the door.

“Sofia, you’re about to see something that almost no one knows about.”

He raised his hands and grabbed the skin around his neck.

At first, the girl didn’t understand what was happening. But a second later, the edge of the “skin” began to separate.

Sofia screamed and backed toward the bed.

Victor slowly removed a thick silicone covering that had completely concealed his body from his neck to his thighs. His enormous stomach, folds of skin, and even some of the scars had been artificial disguises, so realistic that practically anyone could have been fooled.

A completely different man stood before Sofia.

Young, tall, and athletic.

“Who are you?..” she barely managed to say.

“Victor Alvarez,” the man replied. “But now you need to learn my darkest secret.”

Three years earlier, Victor had nearly died in an assassination attempt. That was when he realized that someone among his closest relatives wanted to take control of his fortune.

So Victor staged the appearance of severe illness and began appearing in public wearing a special suit. He wanted to look like a weak man who was close to death so he could find out who would be the first to try to take advantage of his situation.

But there was another reason.

He had stopped trusting people.

Every woman he was introduced to was primarily interested in his money. Some even laughed at his appearance, thinking he couldn’t hear them.

When Sofia’s father offered his own daughter in exchange for the debt, Victor initially wanted to call the police.

But then he decided to test the girl.

“So that’s why you behaved so terribly all this time?” Sofia asked.

Victor nodded.

“I wanted to see whether you would laugh at me, humiliate me, or try to get my money. But tonight, you were the only person in that room who treated me normally.”

Sofia remained silent for a long time.

Then her expression suddenly changed.

“So all of this was a test?”

“Yes.”

“Then you’re no better than my father.”

Victor clearly hadn’t expected that answer.

Sofia took off her wedding ring and placed it on the table.

“One man decided he could give me away to settle a debt. And another decided he could test me like an object. I don’t belong to either of you.”

She headed toward the door.

Victor didn’t stop her.

The next morning, Sofia learned that her family’s debt had been completely paid off. Moreover, an account had been opened in her name containing enough money for her to live on for the rest of her life.

But she didn’t take a single peso.

Nearly six months passed.

One evening, Victor appeared at her doorstep.

Without the wheelchair, without the enormous stomach, and without the disguise.

“Last time, other people made the decision for you,” the man said. “So this time, only you will decide. I didn’t come here for a wife. I came to ask if you would simply have coffee with me.”

Sofia looked at Victor.

And unexpectedly, she smiled.
