North Carolina Man Narrowly Escapes After Black Bear Chases Him in His Own Backyard
A North Carolina man is describing a frightening encounter with a black bear that happened just steps from his own home.
James Pellerin, who lives in Asheville with his wife Melissa, said he was outside in his backyard when he suddenly found himself face-to-face with a black bear.
The encounter quickly became much more serious when the bear began moving toward him.
Home security footage captured James running toward his patio steps as the bear followed close behind.
He managed to reach safety without being injured.
James and Melissa later appeared on Fox & Friends First to describe what happened and how quickly the situation unfolded.
The footage has since drawn attention online because it shows just how suddenly a wildlife encounter can happen, even in
a residential backyard.
For James, what began as an ordinary day at home became a moment he and his family are unlikely to forget.
The couple said they were grateful that the encounter ended without anyone being hurt.
