At 90, He’s Still Going to Work After 52 Years at the Same Bank
For most people, turning 90 might mark a time to slow down and enjoy retirement. For Dayle Penington, however, it is another chapter in a working life that has already lasted more than five decades.
Penington recently celebrated his 90th birthday while continuing to work at a bank in Oklahoma, where he has spent 52 years.

Over the course of those years, the workplace has become much more than somewhere to earn a living. It has been a place where he has built relationships with coworkers, customers and members of his community.
His continued dedication has also made his story stand out in a time when people often change careers and workplaces many times throughout their lives.
For Penington, continuing to work is about more than simply having a job. It is also about remaining active, connected and involved in the community around him.
After 52 years in the same workplace, his story offers a simple reminder: sometimes a lifetime of consistency can be just as remarkable as any major achievement.
At 90 years old, Penington is still showing up — one workday at a time.
