For 36 years, a Florida priest has made helping people in need part of his life.
Father Bob Caudill has continued feeding homeless people in his community despite a long-running dispute with the city and fines that have reportedly grown to more than $500,000.
The conflict began after the city rezoned the area where the meals were being provided in 2014. Since then, the fines have continued to accumulate.
But Caudill says the penalties will not change what he believes is his responsibility.
For him, feeding someone who is hungry is more important than the money involved.
His story has sparked a larger conversation about homelessness, compassion and how communities should respond when people are struggling.
After decades of serving those in need, Caudill says he has no intention of stopping.
“I will never stop.”
