A North Carolina man is describing a frightening encounter with a black bear that happened just steps from his own home.<\/p>\n

James Pellerin, who lives in Asheville with his wife Melissa, said he was outside in his backyard when he suddenly found himself face-to-face with a black bear.<\/p>\n

The encounter quickly became much more serious when the bear began moving toward him.<\/p>\n

Home security footage captured James running toward his patio steps as the bear followed close behind.<\/p>\n

He managed to reach safety without being injured. <\/p>\n

James and Melissa later appeared on Fox & Friends First to describe what happened and how quickly the situation unfolded.<\/p>\n

The footage has since drawn attention online because it shows just how suddenly a wildlife encounter can happen, even in
\n a residential backyard.<\/p>\n

For James, what began as an ordinary day at home became a moment he and his family are unlikely to forget.<\/p>\n
